- 1/2 cup unpopped popcorn
- 2-3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon truffle salt
- paper bag for popping popcorn
We love Truffle Popcorn anytime of the year, but especially during the holidays. It’s a perfect appetizer – easy, elegant, salty and savory. It pairs great with champagne, beer and wine. And the ingredients can just sit in your pantry waiting for unexpected guests to drop in.
The secret is truffle salt. We’ve pictured our Ritrovo Truffle & Salt – it has a generous percentage of truffle to salt and makes your popcorn nice and truffly. This is another simple recipe – pop your popcorn and add oil and truffle salt. We like the combination of olive oil and truffle, but you could use butter or canola oil.
We microwave our popcorn in a paper bag – about 1/2 cup of unpopped popcorn in a lunchbag-sized bag. Pop for about 2-3 minutes (until the kernels are only popping once every few seconds).
Then add olive oil to taste (we use about 2-3 tablespoons) and 1/2 teaspoon of truffle salt and shake to stir.
If you’re entertaining, serve it in a nice bowl for a sophisticated twist on a classic!
